Note that this Help file "SA_Collection_Help.chm" (which you are reading now) is common for all products of the Shadow Analyzer Collection (3D Message, 3D Draw Shadows, Shadow Visualizer, and Shadow Analyzer).

Note that you can use Shadow Visualizer and Shadow Analyzer not only for the visualization and analysis of your solar collector system, but also for many other tasks that are somehow associated with the solar radiation or solar light in architecture, solar design, and even in your everyday practical life.
Each product of the Shadow Analyzer Collection is a stand-alone tool that does not depend on any other applications or any third-party packages.
Note that usually you do not need more than one product of the Shadow Analyzer Collection, because each next product in the sequence 3D Message, 3D Draw Shadows, Shadow Visualizer, Shadow Analyzer is "higher" than the previous one and contains all the features of "lower" products.
Common user interface
All products of the Shadow Analyzer Collection have the advanced parametric CAD features that allow you to compose scenes, populate them with objects, change object dimensions, location, orientation, colors, and reflectivities. You can also apply textures to objects' surfaces.
All the products have common elements of the user interface for the scene management. A combination of combo boxes allows easily find and select objects, their types, parameters, coordinates, and their places in the CS hierarchy. You can transform objects smoothly and continually using Spin controls to change their parameters.
After all the transformations, you can save scenes in files with the same (.sa1) extension.
Full and Trial versions
Each product of the Shadow Analyzer Collection has a full featured Full version.
In addition, each product has its own feature-limited (time-unlimited) Trial version.
In the Full version of any product you can store scenes in files with the same (.sa1) extension.
In the Trial version of any product, you can try the user interface and can train yourself in how to compose new scenes, but you cannot save scenes in files.
You can use the Trial version of any product as a free viewer to see scenes created by a Full version of the same or any other product of the Shadow Analyzer Collection.
The compatibility of file formats inside the Shadow Analyzer Collection
All products of the Shadow Analyzer Collection have compatible file formats with the same (.sa1) extension.
All Full and Trial versions can read scenes from files created by any other product of the Shadow Analyzer Collection. However, each product displays scenes according to its own specific technique.
The appearance of a scene in a Full version depends only on the features available in the application-reader.
The appearance of a scene in a Trial version corresponds to the lowest combination of the features available in the application-writer and the application-reader.
The Trial version constraints
In the Trial version of any product of the Shadow Analyzer Collection, you cannot save scenes in files.
The appearance of a scene in a Trial version depends on the product, by which the scene was created. For example, all scenes created by 3D Message appear in a Trial version of any product only with shadows on the horizontal plane.
In a Trial version you cannot copy objects from a scene created by a "lower" product. For example, in the Trial version of Shadow Visualizer, you cannot copy objects from a scene created by 3D Message or 3D Draw Shadows.
Some other constraints are specific to the corresponding products:
